GRIMA IRMUDÓTTIR
Associate Producer, Archive Producer
Grima Irmudóttir explores themes of identity, belonging, and environmental preservation, blending experimental and narrative techniques with traditional documentary methods.
In 2022, she directed Heima, an Icelandic TV series that examined what “home” means to different people. In 2023, Gríma released Náttúrubönd, an award-winning poetic documentary that explores our changing relationship with nature in the Icelandic landscape. The film follows an activist, a dancer, a scientist, and a biologist as they lament the loss of the land’s beauty and their connection to it.
At Northwestern, Gríma continues to focus on intimate, reflective storytelling, often addressing the relationship between humans and nature.
